Gleneagles was the host of the inaugural Scottish Open in 1935 won by Percy Alliss of England.  One more Scottish Open would take place the following year, before a long hiatus of 36 years.  In 1972 and 1973 two more editions would be played but another break would soon follow until 1986 when the tournament replaced the Glasgow Open on the

Played annually on the European Tour since 1989, the BMW International Open is the only European Tour event taking place in Germany.  BMW does sponsor many events, so don’t be confused by historical results of the BMW Masters or BMW PGA Championship.  The inaugural event was won by Talk Show Host and on Course Color Commentator David Feherty.  Other Commentators to win are Frank Nobilo and Paul Azinger twice.  Thomas Bjørn and Colin Montgomerie have also recently moved to the TV side of the tours and both have been the BMW International Open Champions before.  Who will follow these fine golfers into the booth after adding the BMW International Open to their resume this week?

Weekend Movers – U.S. Open 2017

It’s the weekend, so why not celebrate with some extra fantasy golf??  Welcome to our new article series, focusing on DraftKings’ newest PGA product – weekend golf.  We are going to look at a couple of baseline strategies as well as potential top picks to target.  It’s notable that although you might be reading this post cut, a lot is written before the cut is in place so be sure to keep this in mind and that you are using The Fantasy Fanatics’ Cheatsheet tools that automatically remove players who have missed the cut or WD’d.  We do this in an effort to get you pertinent info in the fastest way possible as you build your lineups in a small window.  Also note that my strategy is geared towards GPP’s, so I will not likely write up an already chalky play.  Let’s get to it.

Overall Strategy

I’ll keep this somewhat brief.  We are in the middle of one of golf’s truest tests so we are here to find players who are in control of their game or (ideally) who are very close and therefore a bit under the radar.  We will do this based on scores from the week so far, the last few tournaments, and in general guys who play links style well and a slight nod to good wind players (expected to pickup slightly on Sunday).  We still expect the USGA to make it a difficult weekend, but ideally our weekend targets will net 4-6 birds (or better!) and minimize the damage to a dropped stroke or two.
